I have always enjoyed fantasy stories. I grew up on fairy tales and remember dreaming about worlds where animals could talk and magic existed. As a tween, I listened to my English teacher read The Hobbit with us, and I loved every adventure (minus the gigantic, hobbit-eating spiders! I swear, I developed my fear of spiders from that book. Lol!). I then discovered The Chronicles of Narnia and dreamt of a world where a kid could live a lifetime of adventure in just a split second of Earth time. I’ve lost myself in stories of dragons, vampires, were-animals, and other dimensions.

It should be no surprise that I would then want to create my own fantasy world. So, Caelagios (kay-LAH-gee-os) was born. Names are important, whether they label a person or a dimension. Caelagios means heavenly sanctuary (caelestis in Latin and hagios in Greek). I took my favorite parts of Earth and enhanced them in this new dimension.

My characters are broken into two groups: Diasodz (DIE-uh-sodz) and Raizyns (Raze-inz). Diasodz means heavenly healers (dia in Latin and sozo in Hebrew). Diasodz were created by the Goddess to protect and heal humans, so the name is quite fitting. The word Raizyns came from the verb raze, which means to demolish. Raizyns were created by Lucifer to destroy the Diasodz. I went through several different spelling options for this group, but I have a thing for y’s so this one won! Lol!

The Diasodz are broken into two groups. The Altorus (alto meaning high) are the nobles. Most of the Diasodz in this group have been blessed with a specific gift from the Goddess – anything from eliminating light, manipulating water and emotions, controlling one’s thoughts, and beyond. They are the protectors in the race. The Curatus (cure meaning healing) are the healers. Think of the medicine men/women, the apothecaries, and the doctors and nurses.

The Diasodz live among humans and blend into their world, or at least they did until they abandoned their calling and fled to Caelagios. And that’s why they must return to Earth to find the savior who can save them all from dying. Want to know what happens? Then, pick up the first book of my fantasy series. It’s free, so what do you have to lose? 😉

The One Discovered (Chronicles of the Diasodz, Book 1)

How do you choose when both options have dire consequences?

Sofia is a 17 year old who is quite content with her life. She has a caring boyfriend who also just happens to be her best friend since birth. She has a loving mother. She is successfully completing her last year of high school and enjoys her part-time job. She can’t imagine wanting more from her life…until Ar’ch (pronounced Ar-rick) enters her dreams, sparking a burning flame inside of her that she can’t seem to extinguish nor does she want to.

Ar’ch is a Diasodz (Die-ah-sodz), a species created by the Goddess back when God created humans. Diasodz were made to heal and protect humans, but when the Diasodz turned their backs on helping humans and left Earth to live in their own world, the Goddess abandoned them. Since then, their powers and their very lives have been fading. A prophecy foretold that a young girl born on Earth would be the Diasodz’s savior. Ar’ch and his brother, Angel, travel to Earth to retrieve her and bring her back to their world before her death day in order to save their kind. Ar’ch knows the drill: find the target, capture her, and safely bring her home. But what happens when the target captures his dormant heart?

Choices create action. Actions have consequences. When faced with the truth, what choice will Sofia make? Will she be able to accept the consequences that follow?

  2. Yvette, I am so happy you gave the pronunciation of the world you created and the characters in your books! I always wondered if I was pronouncing Diasodz correctly. And I won’t even begin to tell you how I was pronouncing Ar’ch so thank you for clearing that one up especially! I hope you’ve enjoyed your day. You certainly deserved it!

    • Thanks, Nonnie! Ar’ch is AR-rick. 😉 When I created the words, I had a bit of fun in trying to figure out how to pronounce them myself. Lol! For Ar’ch, I wanted it to sound very different from arch, especially for the revelation in book 5.I’m happy this post helped clarify pronunciations for me. I appreciate your support and your dedication in promoting all of us. 🙂
